(ROCKDALE) (ROCKDALE)  The City of Rockdale Street Department will begin zipping Hickory the Tuesday  morning  5/21/2024. This work is to prepare the road base for chip sealing scheduled to be done the middle two weeks of June. Please watch for safety signage and workers on the street. (WESTPHALIA)  The Knights of Columbus is sponsoring a vet clinic at the Westphalia Hall Pavilion, State Highway 320,  Westphalia on Monday, May 20th .  The clinic will be from 3pm to 7pm. 

Dogs, cats and other small animals can be vaccinated for rabies, parvovirus and any other ailment they may have at a nominal cost.

(MILAM)   CASA of Milam County will have their first annual Justice Is Served Pancake Breakfast Fund Development at the Cameron Volunteer Fire Department on June 13 from 6-8 a.m. Come sit and eat or take it to go. Pancakes with a drink will be served for $5.CASA Board members will prepare the breakfast while Milam County justice personnel, including judges, police officers and the Sheriff`s Department of Milam County, and Volunteer Firefighters from all over our County, will  serve the breakfast.

(HOLLAND) TxDOT Construction Plan on Bridge Replacement:

DARRS CREEK / SH95 bridge at South City limits started Wednesday 5/15/2024  Traffic reduced to one lane traffic with Stop light.   This will last for 7 months minimum. 

Expect that traffic will back up into Holland and into the main intersection "flashing light" (Franklin /Travis) and cause major congestion during morning and evening rush traffic.

(TEMPLE)   An action-packed event featuring breathtaking aerial displays and static displays of vintage and modern aircraft is coming to Temple!

The City of Temple has announced the Central Texas Air Fest is coming Saturday, May 18, and Sunday, May 19, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. There will also be a concert and drone show on Friday, May 17, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. 

 The event will take place at the Draughon-Miller Central Texas Regional Airport, located at 7720 Airport Road.

Event organizers say this aerial show will feature exciting performances, including aerobatics, formation flying, and military aircraft demonstrations. Attendees can also enjoy food trucks, vendor booths and a kid zone.

Tickets for the event are now on sale! Advanced online admission is $15 for General, $10 for children ages 6-17, and children five and under are free. Tickets purchased online must be exchanged for a wristband at the pre-sale ticket booth on the day of the event.

(MILAM) Starting  May 17, 2024 the Rockdale substation of the Milam County Tax Office will be CLOSED until further notice.

The County seat location in Cameron is open Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm, except for the following days: May 27, June 3, June 19, June 25-28.

Also please note that the 2nd half of the split payment option is due by June 30, 2024. Since June 30th falls on a weekend, the due date rolls to July 1, 2024. Payments may be made online at milam.propertytaxpayments.net  , mailed to PO BOX 551 Cameron TX 76520 , or drop in box at 806 N. Crockett or in person through June 24, 2024-July 1, 2024.

Founded: Dec 2010 by Sheriff David Greene and is run by the dedicated employees of the Milam County Sheriff`s Office.

Our mission:  To improve the lives of children in Milam County by providing toys and books during the holiday season.

The Golf Tournament is our fundraiser to raise money for the cost of such toys , books and more
